Submitting a Taps Notice
- Contact your Post/Department:
Most local VFW department portals (such as the VFW Department of New Mexico
) provide a digital "Submit TAPS Request" form.
- Required Information:
You will need the member's name, membership ID number, post number, district number, and date of death, along with the submitter's contact information.
- Alternative:
Contact your local VFW Post adjutant or the VFW Member Service Center directly to ensure the passing is properly recorded for national records and VFW Magazine.
